This book gives a detailed information about sickle cell disorder, the chronological history of it, some sickle cell experiences of the author corroborated with scientific information such as pubertal delay, pica, priapism, chronic leg ulcer, epistaxis and poems expressing the sickle cell experiences of sickle cell crises and complications. It is an investment by the author in the lives of its readers which will outlive him, such that many generations can learn from. At a time like this, this book is intended to create public awareness about sickle cell disorder, help sickle cell warriors to understand more about it and provide important information to family members and caregivers of sickle cell warriors and encourage more research into sickle cell disorder. My desire is that someday an affordable and easily accessible permanent cure for sickle cell disorder will be discovered.
