In the third book of the Battle of Pneumatika series (In the Beginning, Sage Against the Machine), the struggle between good and evil comes to a climax. Dr. Christian Sage and his entourage are forced to split up in the wilderness of Idaho while America is being fought over by foreign invaders. Meanwhile, Alex Sage and his mentor Father Giovanni are in hiding right under the noses of the evil forces occupying Jerusalem and the surrounding area. Former U. S. President-made-Secretary General of the United Nations, Solomon Greenfeld is actively forming the New World Order in the form of a one-world government from his new headquarters in Jerusalem. Simultaneously, he is seeking the whereabouts of the Sage family. His powerful ally, Supreme Imam Jabari Saal, is in control of the Middle East and has created a new religion which he calls Reformed Islam, of which he is seeking to absorb every world religion into, in order to form a one-world religion along with the global government. However, Pope Gregory XVII has denounced Saal as a wicked false prophet and brought the plans of the New World Order to a screeching halt, much to the disapproval to the infiltrators of the Catholic Church who are in collusion with Solomon Greenfeld and Jabari Saal to form a global government and religion. The Pope's life is in danger and he is in desperate need of refuge. The New World Order has also unleashed preternatural forces to enforce their global agenda, including a hybrid race of giant humans, known as the Nephilim, who are terrorizing certain communities. Meanwhile, a series of natural disasters and pandemic diseases are ravaging the earth. The question that the faithful are asking is: Where is God? and, Why is God allowing these things to happen? The culmination of the Battle between Good and Evil is at hand. Will the faithful persevere in the faith, or will they lose hope and surrender to Greenfeld and the New World Order?
