A group of oil workers find themselves without power and stranded on a man-made island several miles off the coast of Barrow, Alaska. With no means to communicate with anyone outside the island, the tough decision is made to go for help. After a harrowing trip over the ice road, they find no refuge in Barrow. Worse, their friend is savagely attacked by a dark figure. In a bid to save his life, they break into what appears to be an abandoned house. What they find inside, coupled with the strange gathering outside the house, it becomes clear the power outage and cold are the least of their worries.
