Basic methods of data analysis are illustrated with sports statistics collected on professional and college players and teams. The book is organized as an introductory statistics text and can be used for a one semester introductory class. There are three parts: descriptive statistics, predictive statistics and inferential statistics. It is suitable for students in sport management and sports journalism, as well as students in other majors who just love sports. The class that inspired this book has been taught at Springfield College for the last ten years, and has grown in section offerings every year.
