Hubble continues to be the most scientifically productive astronomical observatory as measured by the number of scientific papers published in peer-reviewed scienitifc journals each year (approximately 800 papers per year). The mission's "2020 Vision" ensures that Hubble will continue to operate at peak performance in the coming years and should enable Hubble to continue operations through 2020.
