Lavender Blue and her faithful dog Scooby have moved to the idyllic Sussex village of Greater Marple to make raspberry jam, write detective novels and grow vegetables. The village is a picture postcard of a place with a duck pond, a green, a local pub and a library. The villagers are a welcoming lot, taking them into the bosom of the community. Life is perfect until Lavender discovers the body of a local business woman murdered in the most brutal way. And this is just the first of a series of killings. Pitting their wits against the acerbic local Inspector, Lavender and Scooby investigate and find a dangerous brew of poison pen letters, hidden affairs and vicious rumours that reveal dangerous undertows to the idyllic village. Greater Marple is not what it seems... but who is the killer and can he be stopped?
