The book "Literacy and Development in Haryana" will help the social activists, intellectuals, politicians, administrators and researchers to understand the basic spirit of literacy campaign more deeply. This will also be a better antidote for that cynicism towards literacy campaigns the educated class, politicians and administrators have suffered from. This research will be helpful to an extent to imbibe the perspective of the wider renaissance (reawakening) movement besides knowing 3Rs, the usual definition of literacy.
