A father loses his job, his purpose, and will soon lose his oldest living relative. A daughter loses her love, her certainty, and her faith in America. Both have long lost each other. When war comes, the first war Americans are called upon to fight in a generation, after the tragedy of Vietnam, both find new faith in a radical overthrow of all they once held dear. But can revolutionary patriotism and revolutionary communism coexist in the same family? Will their conflicting faiths and their common hope lead them back to each other? Or will faith tear them apart?
