More Than Just My Hair Ègo Obi

Hearing the words, "You have cancer" is an experience millions of people hear every year. But knowing you are not alone doesn't make it any less scary. The air is still sucked out of your lungs and you are powerless to do anything about it. I know because in October of 2019 I was told, "You have cancer." Though it wasn't the first thought to run through my head, it didn't take long for me to know God wanted...needed me to share my cancer journey with you. He made it very clear that one of the reasons he created me in my mother's womb is to use my story to encourage and empower you to be stronger and bolder than cancer. Why? Because although we cannot always stop the power cancer has to steal a physical life, cancer cannot and will not ever have the power to steal one's courage, joy, ability to love, hope, and hold fast to faith. It isn't easy, but by the grace of God and his abundant supply of blessings, you don't have to let cancer beat you down. So don't. Don't let cancer define you or allow it to take more than you have to. Let your faith in God, his love for you, and the love of family and friends, define who and what you are. Keep the identity you have always had--God's unique creation; created to live a purposeful life that brings good to yourself and others and glory to him (God).
