Eastern Europe has heard the cries of war for six long years now. First it was the West and the East. Now it is the Reds and the Whites. The Russians are broken, they are battered, and they are sick and tired of being sick and tired. No war can last forever. The people know this, for they are the ones fighting it. And the government knows this, for they are the ones paying for it. But when will it all end? And how? With a slow start to the year, Summer proves to be the Bolsheviks crowning glory. To begin the long road to recovery, they are going to pave it with the meager profits of the peasants. The peasants, disagree. They have given everything they have to give. They have nothing left. You can't get blood from a stone no matter how hard you try, but the Bolsheviks are trying. More than trying, they are succeeding at breaking the already broken. It is clear Russia is no safe harbor any longer. You die, or you leave. But go where? Aanya doesn't have the answer for that. Truth be told, she's settled on dying in Russia, dying fighting, as have many of the gypsies. But the Count is not so far gone. He has plans, big ones, but they're ambitious, and almost too good to be true. Can the future he's imagining still be attained when 1920 comes barreling to a close?
