The story of one of South Africa's self-made millionaire, business legend, the late Mr. Thulsiram Dhusruth Maharaj, written by Shamilla Devi Maharaj with intimate knowledge of him as his life-partner. A woman worships the man in her life not only by virtue of her being his wife but also for his inspiring ideals and sacrifices making a deep impact on the lives of the members of his family. Mr. Maharaj was a virtuous person whose accomplishments and sufferings are registered in our hearts, with the unanswerable question, why such a virtuous person should have had untold miseries in his life? My story of Mr. Maharaj, heartfelt, has also the authority of his own dictation of himself and the media coverage which bore witness to the turbulent times following his triumphs in South Africa. This biography, written by me is from one who is ignorant in the art of writing a biography. Hence, I will not have any claim to be a "biographer," in the formal sense of the term. Indeed, I am motivated by my children and am capable of writing it with my humble standards of expression. In fact, the value of the work lies in its being a very humble homage to Mr. Maharaj, a stalwart among entrepreneurs during Apartheid in South Africa.
