This book emphasizes the social unrest in the current environment. The death of George Floyd provoked many protests and incited many emotions throughout the world. Children see what adults see but they don't have context. This book touches on the Black Lives Matter statement. It also shines a light on the child who may read this book rather than focusing solely on what's happening around them. Every child who reads this book should feel empowered to reach their full potential because Black Lives DO Matter. This book is dedicated to all the innocent lives that were lost to police brutality and those who have been victims of the justice system in America because of the way that they looked versus the measure of their actions. Let's continue to teach our children who they are opposed to how they are portrayed in the media. Black Lives Matter!
