This book is inspired by the conversation I had with a childhood friend. He called me crying about his bad relationship with his alcoholic father, and the side effects it was having on his life. He thought I could give him great advice because he always saw me helping my father in his business. I informed him I was going through the same thing he was going through. Although my father wasn't an alcoholic, he is a workaholic. Both of our fathers were absent for major childhood moments, and still had their priorities elsewhere. After a long venting session, tears and laughter, we both left the conversation inspired. I decided to be better, not bitter. I decided to put my experiences into a book to help others who are going through the same thing.
