I thought I knew all I needed to know the day I got married but in actuality, I had no idea. I was prepared for the wedding but God and experiences developed me for the marriage. Not only did we have to learn how to live together but we also had to learn how to survive on our own without the assistance of our parents. The road to recovery after cancer wasn't a skip and a hop. It took some time to fully recover. It wasn't until I was blessed to conceive that I understood that I had fully recovered. I knew I was healed but that is when I really understood my healing. Although my esophagus never completely recovered and I still have difficulty swallowing, I have recovered. My recovery just doesn't look like what it did prior to my diagnosis. The chemotherapy was strong, it beat me up but it didn't win. With the help of the Lord, I won!
