This is a daring story which I remember being read to me as a child. As interesting as it was to listen then, I thought it would be even more delightful if the stories were to rhyme in the same manner as Nursery Rhymes do. My children love it! Studies have demonstrated that the better children are at detecting rhymes the quicker and more successful they will be at learning to read (Bradley, 1988c, Bradley & Bryant, 1983, Ellis & Large, 1987).
