Abuse can be one of the worst traumatic experiences anyone will suffer. Abuse can start as early as childhood which can lead to mental and emotional illness. Abuse that is unaddressed may leave the victim feeling powerless to their emotions. The damaging effects can also cause negative cognitive behaviors that can hinder the individuals ability to succeed. Abuse does not mean that the victim will never heal or succeed in life. While some victims are left with an impression that their life has no meaning, survivors of abuse have discovered many ways to share their testimonies about how their situations changed their life in more positive ways than they could ever imagine. Survivors understand that every situation is different but they also believe that victims can heal. I am a survivor and I share my testimony with those who are ready to walk by faith and overcome the damaging effects caused by their abuse.
