The Way We Live Now (Annotated)

Differentiated book- It has a historical context with research of the time-The Way We Live Now by Anthony Trollope. Trollope's 1875 story of the fraudulent machinations of a great financier in the railway business, and the misuse of his daughter by a passionate lover is a classic in money literature and a good read. Anthony Trollope (London, April 24, 1815-London, December 6, 1882) was one of the most successful, prolific, and respected English novelists of the Victorian era. Some of Trollope's most cherished works, known collectively as the Barsetshire Chronicles or The Barchester Novels, revolve around Barsetshire's imaginary county, but he also wrote penetrating novels on political, social, and sexual issues and conflicts of his day. Trollope has always been a popular novelist. They have been fond of his novels Sir Alec Guinness (who never traveled without a Trollope novel), former British Prime Minister Sir John Major, economist John Kenneth Galbraith, popular American mystery writer Sue Grafton, and screenwriter and playwright Harding Lemay. Trollope's literary reputation declined somewhat during his last years of life, but from the middle of the 20th century he regained the favor of criticism. Sir Ifor Evans points out that, during the bombings of England in World War II, Trollope's novels were the favorite reading of a large number of people.
