My set of five short stories and a novel excerpt were designed to encompass the dangers, violence, bigotry, adventure, survival, and opportunity of Texas from 1840-70. My primary characters include Texas Ranger Caleb McPherson, adventuresome store clerk Becky McPherson, and the mysterious San Angelo outlaw Black Cato. Both Caleb and Becky are fictitious.
