Germany is at a political turning point. The Corona crisis has shown that the current, regulation-based political system is at an end and must be replaced, or at least supplemented, by a value-based political system. The task of a value-based political system is to empower citizens to take responsibility for themselves. Instead of laws and regulations, we need responsible citizens who live together on the basis of rules that can be described as "good morals". This is the only way our democracy will survive in the long term against increasingly powerful autocracies like China.
