"Eww! What are the tadpoles doing in your room?" my mother asked in horror as my first pets moved into my room. They weren't tadpoles, but small fish that still had to unfold their beauty, but that didn't interest my mother at first. At least not until the first fish grew up and I even got my own aquarium.
