As much as I'd like to lie and tell you that all of these years in ministry have been a walk in a rose garden, but that is simply untrue. I'm not sure what I expected when I got the call, but I had no idea what was on the other end of my "yes". What I can tell you, is that ministry will have you love the very people who will turn around and stab you in the back. Ministry will have you pray and pour out when you're empty. Ministry won't allow you to finish with the people you started with because everyone can't go. Ministry will cause many sleepless nights. Ministry will cause you to stand alone at times. Ministry will have you cover the very people who cut you. Ministry will have you Preaching In Pain. While many are blindly chasing platforms and pulpits, they have no idea what demonic plots, plans or poisons are waiting at the door for every leader or anyone who is called. However, the ultimate crushing is when you find out that the ongoing heartache may not just be the devil's doing at all, but it is the Lord himself who is purposely putting you in the fire. Who do you turn to when you're vexed and offended with the Almighty God? I share my truth for the leader who wants to quit, for the "strong friend" who's ready to commit suicide and for the prayer warriors who are just simply tired. I know you've faced devastating times, but you are not alone. I won't give you typical church clichés, but I do what you to know that there is a greater purpose in the pain.
