This involves starving kids, drunk or drugged parents, physical and psychological abuse and poverty. Unfortunately, this is the only story told. And this is the only story other people know. This leads to stereotyping and stigmatization of black people. Naila loves Sundays is a children's book, aiming at telling people a different story about black families. This book displays realistic scenarios, with which every black person can identify. It has beautiful, colorful drawings, which brings the story to life. It gives black children a mirror, which reflects something beautiful and admirable. This book does not only aim at teaching children to read and write, but also to love themselves. In addition, Naila loves Sundays, contains an African fairy tale, which is not only hilarious, but also culturally enlightening.
