This book is the biography of Michael Kara the originator of the 'gentleman' juggling act. Michael Kara was one of the most famous jugglers of the early twentieth century. He would enter the stage wearing a top hat and topcoat carrying an umbrella and smoking a cigar. Kara performed in the best theaters in the world and made several successful tours of America. This is a fantastic story about one of the true innovators of the art of juggling. At the height of his juggling ability, his career was interrupted by the start of World War One. Kara spent four years in a prisoner of war camp and returned to Germany in 1918 at the age of fifty-one to resume practicing, he borrowed props from his juggling colleague Salerno and soon the old Kara was back! Read about the passion and perseverance that drove Michael Kara to be one of the most original and influential jugglers in the world.
