In a time long passed, the Red Flower that hung in the sky withered and died, breaking the nations and starving the earth. As the world began anew in the eternal night, society reforged itself. Built in the north, the town of Atla has become a bastion of humanity, an oasis of life in the expansive wasteland that surrounds it, but as the town grows, so too does the demand on its meagre food supply. In their desperation and need, will the people of Atla set out into the Waste, with hopes to find the lost city in the south. And who is the traveller who has appeared at the town gates? Where is he from? And has he come as the north's salvation or its destruction?
