The book is the edited version of my master thesis on the topic budgeting. The Budgeting process used as a resource allocation and performance measurement tool since long time. The budgeting techniques and trends developed over the time with different characteristics and functions. Business is dealing with lots of complexity and uncertainty, therefore management want to know what would be the generic characteristics of emerging-future budgeting trends and techniques to address these issues. In order to find out these characteristics, the evolution of budgeting techniques, milestones and critical analysis of major budgeting systems has done. In addition, the drivers and factors which influence the budgeting trends have found out. The collected data has analyzed using statistical analysis to find out the drivers, characteristics and general trends in emerging-future budgeting process. The result of analysis show that the drivers are internal and external, budget will have forward looking tendency, optimum level of agility and accuracy, budget used as a competitive advantage enabler and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
