The subject of time travel is a fascinating one which stimulates all sorts of imaginable fantasies. The mere notion of the ability to step into and/or out of a time, a place or space different from where one normally resides, is spellbinding at the very least. Some scriptural passages even speak of such movement of individuals from one place to another without assistance of external land transport. The 8th chapter of the book of Acts gives such an example. After baptizing the eunuch, Phillip is said to have experienced the following in verses 39 and 40; "When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; the eunuch saw him no more and went on his way rejoicing. 40 But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he was passing through the region, he proclaimed the good news to all the towns until he came to Caesarea. While Phillip's time travel did not entail movement from one century or millennium to another, it did entail travel from a certain body of water in Gaza, all the way to Azotus, a city just over a 30-mile distance away from Gaza. This span would ordinarily have required either a form of moving transportation, or otherwise walking; so it is clear that in this instance, Phillip experienced place and time travel. In this story, Jennifer is enthralled by the Acts passage and inquires of God for a similar experience. God grants it and Jennifer finds herself on an adventure that she never could have conjured up even in her wildest imagination. Her time travels are not restricted to just one location or just one time period, but many. She influences history, she watches history unfold, and is often shaken by history's consistent cruel occurrences.
