Samuel Longhorn Clemens (November 30, 1835 - April 21, 1910) was the pen name of Mark Twain, his American author, comedian, founder, publisher and lecturer. He was hailed as "the greatest humor this country has ever produced" and William Faulkner called him "the father of American literature."
