The Fifth Dimension is the result of a course on aesthetics and neuroaesthetics created and directed by the architect, composer, artist and philosopher Emanuel Dimas de Melo Pimenta in the years of 1997 and 1998 at the Childhood Education Institute of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in Lisbon, Portugal. They are thirty books in fourteen volumes. In this ninth volume we have the appearance of the figures of the prince and the artist... The beginning of art as we know it today! And with that beginning, we also have Vasari, Piero della Francesca, Hermes Trismegistus, Marsilio Ficino, Machiavelli, Leon Battista Alberti, Lorenzo il Magnifico, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci - to jump to Montaigne - among many others. Each volume is a different field in this formidable universe that is the Fifth Dimension. The set of books that make up this project deals with the metamorphosis of the human thought, over thousands of years, going through culinary, the universe of perfumes, of the music, of ideas and the history of art.
