Outside is the end of the world. Inside is survival. After a mysterious apocalypse, Ashcroft believes he is the last person left alive. Surviving in an abandoned shopping centre, haunted by visions of his wife and daughter, Ashcroft meets another survivor, Joplin. Revealing she has never gotten ill, Ashcroft believes Joplin holds the key to humanity's survival. Together they venture into a desolate diseased city, finding a military radio that promises rescue. They become pursued by strange visions and other survivors that warn them THE SHADOWS ARE COMING. Ashcroft must keep Joplin alive, whatever the cost.
