Lord Henry Sandringham is the son of an earl and a notorious gay playboy. He is also secretly an MI6 agent who specializes in getting people out of tight situations. After the Prime Minister meets with his old friend Hassan Tohjani, the Foreign Minister of Iran, Henry is assigned by MI6 to rescue the Iranian official's son, Bijan, who has been arrested for being gay and faces a trial and death sentence. Bijan is under house arrest on his father's estate on the outskirts of Tehran. Only his father's position in the government is protecting him. Henry is joined on the assignment by another undercover agent who goes by the code-name of Winnie. He provides Henry with a new drug called SOMNOS, which creates a state of hibernation that mimics death-no vital signs can be detected. Henry is to give it Bijan to help the young man play dead and escape across the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijan and ultimately to safety in England. The Knight's Tale (part one of the Tales Along the Way series) is a 36.6K MM novella full of intrigue and suspense, nestled inside an explicitly erotic gay romance. It features an English nobleman, MI6 agents, and a handsome young gay man. Like all romances, it has a satisfying HEA ending.
