Geerhardus Vos

The Journal Writings of Geerhardus Vos, Volume 1

Articles on key topics in the Gospels from a distinguished Reformed theologianSpanning the full range of theological inquiry, the work of Geerhardus Vos helped Reformed theology navigate the head winds of modernism and maintain both the spiritual fervor and intellectual depth that has characterized its devotees since its inception during the Reformation. In this volume, Vos examines critical questions surrounding the ways in which the gospels present Jesus's messianic identity, the concept of "Logos" in Greek thought and Christianity, and more. The volume also contains numerous book reviews by Vos that show him reacting to the theological scholarship of his own day, including such classics as Albert Schweitzer's revolutionary-but controversial book-The Quest for the Historical Jesus.
