This quality shaped the work ethic that helped Joe gain a basketball scholarship to Northeastern University, where an opportunity to participate in summer co-op programs provided him a path to the financial industry.
Joe landed a position with Alex Brown & Sons, an iconic Baltimore firm recognized as the first investment bank in the United States.

Motivated to shed the distressing poverty that was all too prevalent while growing up, Joe embarked on a career in the financial profession. However, he did not find his true calling until he established his practice, Slight Edge Financial, Inc.

In setting out on his own, Joe committed to being as transparent as possible while helping others attempt to fulfill their retirement ambitions. In his book Financial Insight With a Slight Edge, Joe weaves his stories alongside valuable retirement principles.
