"Is Life Fair?" The ageless question that is contemplated by anyone faced with an unexpected tragedy. As a 19-year-old young man, an accident left Brian Jacob a quadriplegic. At a young age, the sport of competitive wrestling taught Brian discipline, an attribute that he has applied to his life during its many ups and downs. His positive outlook has been a testimony to his resilience through numerous years of living with a disability. He has strived with one goal in mind to "never give up." He has transcribed his struggles, accomplishments and victories in his memoir.


This book is Brian's attempt to answer the timeless question and is truly a heartfelt story of love and leaving behind a legacy.


Brian Jacob is the president of WESTARM Physical Therapy and WESTARM Home Health. He has owned and operated his healthcare companies since 1991.


Brian grew up in New Kensington, Pennsylvania and is a 1976 graduate of Valley High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1982 and his Maser's in Healthcare Administration from the same university in 1987. He was given a Distinguished Graduate Award from his Graduate School of Public Health in 2002.


In 2019, he was inducted into the Allegheny-Kiski Valley Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding wrestling career. He has also been an active member on local community boards, school districts, hospitals and the YMCA.
