Pandemics alter the fabric of society. They catalyze social and economic changes including extinction of civilizations, rise and fall of empires, geopolitical changes and advancements in technology. As a response to the devastating impact of Covid-19, my interest piqued in understanding how pandemics change the world for the better. As a human species, we have evolved to survive in the most hostile of environments. Pandemics have accelerated the evolution of the human species through the advancement of knowledge. In this book, I explore the impact of the six most devastating pandemics and how they fostered changes that continue to improve the human condition and their impact on the global approach to fighting and mitigating the effects of future pandemics.
