Whitemare explains how segregation formed the author's mentality and how that mentality affected him his entire life. The book is meant more for the white race than the black race because it explains how retrogressive society remains because of segregation.
Segregation is a financial anomaly that affects the classes disproportionately. Segregation does not touch the wealthy regardless of color. I was born poor. I was touched by segregation in a negative way that took a lifetime to overcome.
Whitmore explains the road I traveled to overcome the stain of hate.
