The book is written for an undergraduate course on the Network Synthesis and Filter Design. The chapter on fundamentals of network synthesis includes Hurwitz polynomial, properties of positive real functions and Sturm's theorem. The book covers the various aspects of one port network synthesis explaining the network synthesis of LC, RC, RL and RLC networks using Foster and Cauer forms. The book also includes the synthesis of transfer functions. The chapter on passive filter design includes the discussion of various filter approximations, magnitude and frequency normalization and frequency transformation. It continues to explain the active filter design and active filter synthesis. It incorporates the discussion of negative impedance converter, gyrator and frequency dependent negative resistance. Finally, the book discusses the sensitivity function, factors affecting gain sensitivity and effects of op-amp parameters on the performance of active filters.
