Frida Giovanna Santos

The work consists of an exhibition memorial of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and her impressive trajectory as one of the women who inscribed her name in the History of Humanity. It is a theoretical research illustrated with 26 (twenty-six) signed paintings in addition to extracts from her personal diary. In Frida: the courage to paint herself, it is understood that each work, as well as art in its totality, is the result of a personal experience expressed on the canvas, it is the materiality of the common being symbolized by the artist that transcends generations. The courage to paint oneself, as a way of drawing attention to fundamental issues, portrays how much the artist was able to see art and beauty in a moment of difficulty. Frida is admired and respected as a source of inspiration, overcoming and persistence, being considered an icon of feminist struggle.
