In De la Carrera de la edad II. De regreso, Gonzalo Celorio presents writings about Latin-American literature in which the depth replaces the breadth, selectivity to indiscrimination, and criticism to homage. This second volume is divided in four sections: Hacia una semntica del silencio, a compilation of writings about the creation of the Mexican poetry canon; Ensayos de contraconquista (2001) in which a dozen of studies explain the Latin-American narrative from the second half of the twentieth century. Celorios detailed and great academic work and teaching of Cuban literature are concentrated in Avatares de la literatura cubana. This section approaches the work of writers from the inside and outside the isle. This second volume closes with Del Esplendor de la lengua espaola (2016) which examines the work of members of the Mexican Academy of Language.
