Firecrackers are used all over the world during New Year?s Eve, some festivals and to celebrate different social as well as religious occasions. Explosions of firecrackers, especially on New Year?s Eve, is enormous and some people are subjected to a peak sound pressure levels, which excide permissible level, and can cause loss of hearing. In many cases, firecracker explosions present a source of annoyances and stress-related diseases, so for people as well as for wild and domestic animals. In addition, they present a fire hazard and risk of personal injuries (burns of body and face, loss of sight and fingers). The number of firecracker explosions and a peak sound pressure distribution are the main parameters influencing on the place of immission, therefore some statistical properties were observed. A special emphasis is given to the joint probability density distribution of the peak sound overpressure levels, originating from a great number of firecracker random explosions. Investigations have shown that in case of the high enough number of explosions in unit time, the Rayleigh distribution tends to a Gaussian one.
