Agro-meteorological Research: Seasonal Rainfall Prediction and Its Application in Maize Production over Arba Minch Dagnachew Daniel Molla

Drought influences in great amount of agricultural production in tropical region. It threatens almost half the population and food insecurity regularly. Despite in most of developing country of the people are engaged in agriculture, the production of crop is also practiced by rain fed and production is affected by non-regular distribution of weather system. These can cause a problem of food insecurity for the region. With this back ground, the research try to address and investigate how some of the climatic parameters would be factored into the local maize yield related policies and planning so that social and economic resources could be utilized optimally amongst the grass-root levels. The results of this study would therefore create awareness among the Climate- yield related service providers and produce user-tailored information that enable the society to mitigate the possible climate related burden and minimize the likelihood risks.
