This study investigated the effect of curriculum implementers? qualifications and experience on their perception of the impact of school inspection on KCSE examinations performance, the impact (if any) of school inspection on KCSE examination performance and the adequacy of the provision of inspection services to secondary schools in the Rift Valley province. THE MAIN FINDINGS: Inspection has no impact on academic performance in KCSE Examinations. (a) Only four schools (2 provincial and 2 district) out of 38 were inspected five times (at least once in a year) within the period of five years prior to this study. (b) All inspectors reported that they had to inspect teachers in subjects in which they (inspectors) were not qualified/ specialised in.
