Here is a cheap, simple, effective, efficient and selective clean up method for nickel ions in mine tailings. This book describes the design, synthesis, characterization, optimization and application of a nickel ion imprinted polymer for mine tailing samples. This imprinted polymer was found to perform exceptionally well despite the ?harsh? conditions in the mine tailings. The book is ideal for undergraduate and graduate students who are using imprinted polymers as a clean up method as it is easy to read and provide basics to synthesis of imprinted polymers. It may also be useful to post graduate students and researchers who are starting their research in this field. Mining, environmental and agricultural companies and institutions may also apply the technique to selectively mop out nickel ions from mine tailings samples.
