"Suffering in Silence : The Peasant History of Tamil Nadu" attempts to study the peasants? condition in the first five decades from 1900 to 1952 of the twentieth century amidst changing scenario both Political and Economic in Tamil Nadu. This present book is mainly based on primary sources and tries to holistically understand the status of peasants under the colonial rule and the attempts of many political organisations that tried to uplift them from their deplorable condition.
