This book critically evaluates the importance of community participation in community driven water and sanitation projects. Being a comparative analysis it is visualizing the role of community as well as the stakeholders. For a popularity two very fruitful projects, Jalanidhi& Swajaldhara, has been referred for the study. Jalanidhi is a world bank aided project implemented by Govt of kerala. Swajaldhara is a Government of India programme implemented in the national level. The first one is more participatory in nature and acclaimed globally . community ownership is very visible in the project. While working in Jalanidhi,the authors were invited by Swajaldhara community to help them to make a jalanidhi model governance in their schemes.its a narration of field experience rather than a academic experiment.
