The thesis studies the transformation of socialcontext and institutions during the last two to threedecades and identity construction in this newlyreorganized social reality. Global flow?s influenceon ?locale? will be shown via the example offundamentalism. A juxtaposition of modernity?sfeatures to those of Christian fundamentalism?s willshow the threatening character of globalizationtowards Christian fundamentalism by examples ofsecularization and a crisis in patriarchalism. Thus,the work tries to depict how the character of themodern world is reflexively organized via interplaybetween the global and the local.
