Training Workshops of Science Teachers Under Foreign Funded Project: an Evaluation Shiekh Tariq Mahmood

Most of the projects had been started for the improvement of science education through tracer's training programmes but results were not satisfactory. Trough this evaluation an effort was made to find out the possible reasons of success or failure of these training workshops and suggest the possible reasons by which success can be continued and causes of failure can be removed. For this purpose an survey study was conducted on the trainees of the workshops in the subject of Physics, Chemisty and Maths through a questionnaire of five point Likert scale to find out the achievement of workshop objectives. The main objective of the workshop were to provide the knowledge of the subject, proper methodology for the delivery of the subject content, test items development and evaluation techniques. Whole population was treated as sample. Data were analyzed through percentages.. In the light of findings it was concluded that workshops were not successful regarding the knowledge of the content, methodology, test item development and evaluation. Master Trainers were not fully prepared for the training. In the light of conclusion recommendation were made.
