Against the intensified communalisation of tribals in India, this book presents the processes of expansion of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (ABVKA) amongst tribals in rural India. With Christian tribals becoming their new targets of hate campaign, it analyses the invariable rise in the anti-Christian violence in India, outlining the contemporary images and episodes of communal violence. The focus of the book is on narratives of communal mobilisation of tribal community using strategies of ?welfare' activities under the garb of tribal community development extensively undertaken by RSS and ABVKA. In this backdrop, it looks at the finer aspect of making of hindutva identity weaved through everyday discourse of the communities in their routine settings by arousing their religious consciousness for political ends. The book is based on the research findings carried out in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh state and would be useful for academicians, researchers, practitioners and students working on communalism.
