Blue Burgundy Land
Roy Swanepoel
In 1940 Hitler staged a massive build-up of German troops on Switzerland's northern border to deceive the Swiss and Allies into thinking he would invade France through Switzerland. Ernst evacuates his family from the border and - in his concern to keep them out of harm's way - misses the mobilisation of their army. When the German invasion does not come, he and his family are forced to return to their home town in disgrace and to another deception.
