In some infections, in which no diagnosis can be made with certainty, the use of non- specific immunizing stimuli is recommended to increase the resistance of the body against whatever disease is present. But the evaluation of this type of non-specific immunotherapeutic agents is very important. Only few studies have been carried out. Toxicological and pharmacological evaluations are mandatory for any new medicinal agents. Besides these two investigation should be made to find out whether the drug has lipid peroxidation induction capacity or not. The present overview will highlight various methods of evaluation for non-specific immunotherapeutic agent.
