As part of the computer science field, virtual reality offers an alternative to standard therapy for mental health disorders that immerses patients into interactive, three-dimensional worlds. These virtual worlds expose humans to objects and/or situations that may be unlikely or impossible in the real world. This book will provide a step-by-step process for applying user-centered design techniques to the development of a software application for the treatment of a mental health disorder, specifically post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
